Webinar 1 – DFS Virtual User Meeting – See the latest software features for the Thermo Scientific DFS Magnetic Sector GC-HRMS: DFS Software Package on Windows 10
The latest developments for instrument and data evaluation software on Windows 10 for the Thermo Scientific™ DFS™ Magnetic Sector GC-HRMS are presented in this webinar.
To overcome wrong locking problems, which can happen with especially challenging matrices (for example sulfuric sediments, fly ashes, squalene), the Smart Mid Mode of the Thermo Scientific™ DFS SmartTune™ Operating Software offers a solution. With the Smart MID Mode, all parameters for the calibration are determined before the analysis when no sample is present. This allows you to narrow the lock mass scan, which ensures the correct calibration by excluding potential matrix interference signals.

In the second part, the Signal/Noise Feature (of the Thermo Scientific™ DFS TargetQuan™ 4.0 Data Evaluation Software) which allows full transparency of LOQ and LOD calculations is shown.
First, you need to define the sigma value which will be applied to the calculation. Depending on which official method labs have to follow, the value might be different. Then you can define in the quantification method the time range for each analyte which then will be automatically applied. This time range is relative to the retention time of the analyte and can be before or after the peak. The range is now displayed in the chromatogram. Here it can be reviewed and adapted to the sample in case of interferences. When the signal-to-noise range is changed, the resulting parameters are automatically recalculated in real-time. In the software, the activation of the feature is a one-click process.
