Kannan Srinivasan is a Director & Chief Scientist Sample Preparation, in the Chromatography & Mass Spectrometry Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. He is presently involved in R&D of sample preparation modules and consumable products for chromatography and mass spectrometry. Kannan joined Dionex now part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in 1993 and his work has been focused on chemistry consumable development and methods for ion chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, and various sample preparation technologies. He has authored several publications, EPA methods, chapters in several books and is an inventor of 58 US patents, along with numerous foreign equivalents, in a number of areas including design of novel electrolysis based devices for ion chromatography, desalting, titration, suppressor design, novel chromatography separation methods and stationary phase design, coatings for capillary electrophoresis, novel solvent extraction techniques and novel detection protocols. He has developed and introduced numerous products that have won R&D 100 awards. Kannan received his BS and MS degree from the University of Mumbai, Mumbai, India and a Ph.D. degree from American University, Washington DC, USA.
